Why Choose Our Custom Branded App?
Moodle provides a generic mobile app for Google Android and Apple iOS devices. A Moodle site administrator can register their site with Moodle. A limited number of users can then install this generic mobile app from Google Play and the App Store, and use it to receive notifications for free for a limited number of courses.
Besides user and course limits, this generic app can be disorienting because it does not reflect the look and feel of your Moodle site. It keeps the generic Moodle look and feel, and the onboarding process requires users to type or search for their site name in addition to entering their username and password.
We provide custom branding and onboarding through our Custom Branded App. This is your own branded app with your name, logo, color theme, and app-store listing on Google Play and the App Store. Students do not need to enter the site URL because it is preconfigured, and they can also use QR code login.
Your Moodle mobile app will be available to download on Google Play and the App Store with your own app icon, app name, and app description.
The Custom Branded App covers both Google Android and Apple iOS platforms, giving your users a consistent branded experience across all devices.

It is an annual subscription. You can cancel at any time. After cancellation, your app remains listed on Google Play and the App Store and continues to function normally. However, push notifications, support, and future upgrades will be paused until you renew your subscription.
If you buy the “Complete Package”, we require one week to build your app once you provide us with the design assets and you have created your Google Play and App Store developer accounts. Another week or two is required after submitting the app to get it approved on Google Play and the App Store.
You don’t need to get any permissions from Moodle for this.
The free MooDIY Premium App gives you access to all premium Moodle mobile features at no cost, but it uses the MooDIY branding. A Custom Branded App is your own app with your logo, colors, and branding published under your own developer account on Google Play and the App Store.
Yes, the free MooDIY Premium App works with any Moodle site, whether hosted with MooDIY or elsewhere. Simply connect your Moodle site URL and your users can start using the app immediately.

Yes, you can upgrade from the free MooDIY Premium App to a Custom Branded App at any time. Your users will simply need to download your new branded app, and they can continue from where they left off.
For the Custom Branded App, yes. You will need a Google Play Developer account ($25 one-time fee) and an Apple Developer account ($99/year). We will guide you through the setup process. The free MooDIY Premium App does not require any developer accounts.
